Board to Choose New Roof Shingles

Background

During the past summer, a volunteer committee has examined shingle roof issues with the goal of recommending to the Board what should be put on future sloping roofs at Sunset Park. The committee recommended 40-year composition shingles. Details of the committee recommendations are available on the web for you to read.

Although the committee members feel that sloping roofs could wait at least another 3 years before being replaced, it has become necessary to replace roofs at 6 units at the present time. These 6 units have flat roofs that were selected by the Board to be replaced this year. When the work on replacing these flat roofs began, it was discovered that these roofs are constructed in a way that makes replacement of the associated shingle roofs at the same time advisable.
