SOLAR PANELS APPLICATION

The undersigned, owner of Unit ___________, submits this application for solar panels in accordance with Article VII of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions. Included with this application are drawings describing how the solar panels will be installed.

I agree to accept full responsibility and liability for any damage, roof leakage, or interior subsequent damage as a result of the installation of the solar panels, alteration or addition, and future maintenance thereof. I also agree to indemnify the Association for any cancellation or impairment of warranty on the roofs. I will reimburse the Association for any additional costs that the Association incurs in connection with maintenance, repair, or replacement of the roof on my building as a result of presence of panels.

I agree to reimburse the Association for the cost of trimming trees that interfere with sunlight reaching my solar panels. If a tree needs to be removed, I agree to pay for the cost of removal. I understand that City approval may be necessary for the removal of trees and that the City does not automatically grant such approval.

I agree that the work will be done in accord with all city codes and, if required, that I will obtain the necessary permits. I also agree that the work will comply with applicable California law, including Civil Code Section 714(c)(2) and 714(c)(3). If the panels are removed other than temporarily to access the roof for maintenance, or if the panels cease to be operational, then I agree to return the roof to its original state.
